BRIEF HISTORY OF SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL.

After a decade long civil war, Sierra Leoneans who were displaced internally, and those who were out of the country during that period, are now scattered all over the world. This terrible war caught the attention of the outside world because children were being used as child soldiers, giving them drugs to commit atrocities like the amputation of arms and limbs, the indiscriminate killings of civilians…and the list go on. Thank God, for the intervention of the international community in many ways to end this terrible chapter of the history of Sierra Leone Many refugee programs were put in place to help the internally displaced affected by this war terribly. The United States as always was able to help a lot of these people start a new life and, as they integrated into society, to meet their spiritual needs Seek Ye First the Kingdom International Fellowship Inc. was formed.

In March 2006, God came through on His Promise in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” His Word became a reality when, through the leadership of Pastor Edward Alinyoh, Seek Ye First the Kingdom International Ministry (SYFK) was born.

The first service was held at the home Bro. Bai Coomber and the members present at that are service were:- Bro. Bai and his daughter, Pastor Patrick Koroma, Pastor Eddie and wife Sis. Ama and their three kids – total eight. As each member made their homes and time available to God, He in turn blessed their homes and lives tremendously. In May 2006 Sis. Shenor willingly gave her home for used as a Place of worship and her garage became a sanctuary for worship to accommodate the few members we had at that time. God continued to add faithful and dedicated members to this ministry. In July 2006, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Manley offered their business location to be used for church services at no cost. It was at this location that God added to the ministry and praise God “The Children's Ministry” was borne at this time. We thank God for spiritual growth in the ministry and praise God we are still growing.

Through the leadership and guidance of our Pastor Edward Alinyoh (Pastor Eddie),

God has taken Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God International Fellowship Georgia (SYFK Int. Fellowship Inc.), from a few believers to dedicated members whose main concern is to seek God first in every aspect of their lives.

As we try to overcome the challenges with growth of membership, God touched the heart of Mr. and Mrs. Femi Wright who graciously offered their former business location to the church as a meeting place at 6319 Covington Highway Lithonia GA. 30058 Stone Mountain. We met at there place until December of 2007. God bless their precious Hearts.

God being our helper as always, we moved to Glen Haven United Methodist Church in Decatur where the Pastor hosted us for two months and then moved to Fairfield Inns and Suites by Marriott’s, at Stone Crest Mall in Lithonia Georgia for another two months. God blessed us with what we will call a “God kept and God sent” place as we continue to fix our eyes on Him. This has been our home for a year until God moves us to our next level. This wonderful place is located at 2105 VISTA DALE COURT, TUCKER GEORGIA 30084. As we go into another year, we continue to trust and believe God for a church building, a place that we can call our own, where we will continue to grow and worship God in liberty, in spirit and in truth. That place we have found and we are going all out to ask help from potential sponsors and donors who will us in the acquisition of this building.
